. . but we will not put him in a crate on top of the car!
Seriously, he is doing much better today with the lameness. It is assumed that when they did the X-Rays (when he was under sedation) they pulled his hips and legs down to get a good view and it really upset his balance. It was bad (very bad) at first but seems to be improving rapidly each day. He doesn't look overly happy in this photo but it is one of last year (with the tall grass!) . I'll be posting some new photos next week and you can see his "smile."
However, the "primary" for the high globulin count is still not definitive after the second round of tests, so we are taking him to the U of Florida's highly renowned vet facility (Jim compared it to "The Mayo" for people) on Monday for their opinions. Our local vet can only do so much. I'll keep you posted on that.
Thanks to everyone who has wished me a happy birthday. I so appreciate these greetings since today I am 64 and as you may remember the Beatles song: "Will you still be sending me a valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?" So thanks to all of you who have sent a greeting. . . so I don't feel so old!!!! We're off to an Internet Cafe today (a sort of mini casino here in Palm Coast) and to dinner tonight. Fun!
We are actually saving our celebratory exuberance for Las Vegas and Best Friends in about 3 weeks. I don't know why I love Vegas so much. . . I think it is due to Aunt Kate's love of the place and I just inherited the predisposition? And of course, I dearly love Best Friends and would encourage all of you who have not been thre to visit and be amazed at the care they provide 700 dogs and hundreds more cats and goats and horses and pigs and birds who have no one else to care for them . . . AND achieve an 85% adoption rate. . totally amazing.
Have a good weekend everyone! Thanks for checking in.
Love,
Peggy
You always crack me up . . . somehow i know you would not put Reese on the roof. Only monsters would do something so awful. I've only heard of one other person doing that and it was a guy who worked at a gas station. He saw Caspian sitting in the car and for some reason he was compelled to tell me that he put his dog on the roof in a crate and he loved it. Just hearing that made me nauseous. Anyway, I will be thinking of you all tomorrow and sending positive vibes and all that good stuff right to your sweeeet boy. And I'm so glad to hear that his arthritis is a little better. That's good news at least! Good luck tomorrow with the trip and the vet visit! :) michelle
