Happy SB Sunday

Aunt (Doctor) Jean is Patrick's father's youngest sister.  She is just a delightful woman and we were so happy she could stay with us over the weekend.  We laughed and caught up on family events and stories while showing her Palm Coast.  We hope she will return for a longer stay next time she needs a warm place outside Madison, Wisconsin.

I got up this a.m. with a sharp pain in my elbow and we think it is merely a muscle pull but will check it out at Mayo tomorrow during chemo.  Only 7 more chemo sessions to go!!!  I should be over this round on April 4th and then they will know if it is 100% working.

We got a new wall hanging which is edgy, out there and fun!  At least it has not fallen down and crashed.

We are overjoyed that my cousin, whom I have never met, is coming to America..  His name is Seamus McGuire and his grandfather and mine were brothers.  He currently lives in Wales. He, his wife, and my cousin John who lives in Maryland, will be meeting June 24-26 in Weaverville.  This is just such an exciting moment.  Like discovering a side of your family you had no idea existed.  Such a nice guy.

Ryan and Sarah come in next Saturday night and we have all the plans laid for our week with them including Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, Disney World and a terrific place to stay (we have been there before):  Hilton Grand Vacation Club at Sea World. http://www.hiltongrandvacations.com/vacation-resort-collection.php.  We got a terrific deal (of course).

I continue to feel pretty good although this dern fatigue seems to follow me around like  a shadow.  Maybe more protein in my diet is needed? Will find out tomorrow.

Hope all of you had a great weekend !

  1. Hi Peggy and Patrick,
If you have time between all your visitors and house guests to see a good movie, I'd recommend "The King's Speech." Interesting, funny, and very well done. Great character actors. We thoroughly enjoyed it and think you would too! Barry put the bike rack on the car today because we are having an occasional day when a bike ride (with a parka on!) isn't out of the question. Went to the dog park today with our pack (including our foster dog)and it was loaded with dogs happily playing. I love to see the dogs running and playing off leash together. It's how their lives are supposed to be!! We are fostering an 11 lb. miniature poodle/maltese mix. We've had him for about a month and he has made steady progress from shy and timid to loving and trusting. Tomorrow I'm taking him to meet a family that is interested in adopting him. YEAH!! I dropped off a giant bag of pigs ears at Brother Wolfe for the ChainFree AVL Valentine's event. There was quite a pile of donations already there so every dog should get at least one treat --- maybe more! I'm looking forward to Valentine's Day too. I want to go to Old Europe and eat the most decadant, scrumptious chocolate dessert in their pastry counter. YUM! Hope you and Patrick indulge on Valentine's Day too.
    Love,
    Sharon

  2. Hi Peggy, Sounds like you had fun with Aunt Jean! I can’t believe it’s already time for Ryan and Sarah to visit—I remember when you mentioned it quite awhile ago. You two must really be looking forward to seeing them. And that’s so neat to hear that Seamus is coming to see you all . . . I know you can’t wait to meet him! Hopefully your Mayo visit went well and they have some answers for your fatigue and elbow pain. Super news to hear that you are counting down the chemo sessions! And I like the wall hanging—it’s always fun when you post photos. Quick update from NC . . . we had a lovely, warm weekend but snow flurries greeted us this morning! Have a great week—Michelle :)

  3. We have seen King's Speech and Social Network. I hope Kings Speech wins. I thought the portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg was a little over the top. . I have heard he really is a nice guy but driven.
Good to see you and Bary in the AHS newsletter.
    Angels both!

    Love,

    Peggy
