According to CNN, Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his hovel Wednesday and saw his shadow, which — according to tradition — means that spring will come early this year. Phil, whose first name comes from the Pennsylvania town where he lives, emerged at 7:20 a.m. ET and hung out with the well-dressed gentlemen presiding over the event without retreating inside. UPDATE: Looks like CNN made an error in their story. When Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his hole this morning, he DID NOT see his shadow, which means that Spring will come early this year, as reported. The story quoted from CNN stated that the groundhog DID see his shadow, which is not true. When the groundhog sees his shadow it means that we have 6 more weeks of winter, but since Phil didn’t see his shadow, tradition states that we will have an early Spring. Is that clear as mud?
Well, as the media try to sort this out, I can report that my lab results came back fine from the Monday blood pull and I feel fine (besides the stomach ache each morning). I am also trying eat less meat--but not a vegan (yet?)
We saw the movie Black Swan today Yikes, I though Patrick was going to throw up. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Anyway, this Friday we begin our "B&B" again: Aunt Jean coming Friday-Sunday, Ryan and Sarah coming Feb 12-19 when we go to Orlando with them, Linda and Jim Palmer Feb 23-25, Elaine Matternas (long-time friend) from March 1-3, Suzie Fucik (window of Patrick's Best Friend) March 3-4, we are off to Las Vegas for my birthday March 27-31, and Jo-Anne and John, my cousins, April 10-16. So if you want a room, you'd better book it fast!
I’m so happy about the groundhog’s predictions . . . I can’t wait for spring! So glad that your bloodwork continues to look good (hooray!) and that’s great that you are eating less meat, too! Hope the B & B is going well—you two are professionals in this field, after all—so I bet everyone is having lots of fun. Plus, you have two very cute furry greeters at the door to make everyone feel welcome. And, wow, you have a lot of visitors lined up. That’s wonderful! Have a great time! : ) Michelle
