Norah will be going home soon to meet the rest of her family, Caboose and Heidi! I am sure they will love her too! She is adorable and we love her to pieces.
Health wise I have been reduced to only 16 hours on the TPN so I am "free" of the walker from noon until 8 p.m. each day. Of course, I am still attached to the G-tube so we are going to get a big beach bag to put it in so it doesn't look so weird.
Had the chemo bag removed today and the nurse who put the tape on my skin Wed to cover the port used the regular tape, not sensitive skin tape, so I now have these red sores, and it was very painful removing the original tape. I wish I could just hire Mary Beth as my home health care nurse and have Mayo Clinic come up here. Mayo is so much more professional than Mission. Granted, the Mission Cancer Center is new and will have growing pains, but each time we go there it does not go smoothly. Oh well, maybe with time, they will "get it."
A new side-effect to this new chemo is metallic mouth and the perfect remedy is a grape Slurpee. Wow! Wonderful stuff.
Kristin came by yesterday to refill the vase of flowers she brought over last week. She is such a thoughtful and compassionate friend! Thank you, Kristin.
Gil and Joe are having great time with their new T-Bird. It is the envy of the block.
Reese is still looking good on his chemo meds and Allie is fine. So is Patrick.
We are just about rained out here. . . so good for us but I feel so sorry for the people out west.
Will write more later,
Love,
Peggy
hi Peggy, i love seeing the photos of little Norah . . . so very exciting! she is sooo very cute! please keep us posted with pics because i know she will change so much so quickly. :) glad to hear you have more time free from the bag. i know it's tough toting it around all the time. i think a beach bag is a great idea! hopefully the skin issues from the tape have resolved . . .that sounds excruciating! you are so very patient (yep, you are a very "patient" patient!) with all of these nurses. i know that you probably want to wrap them up in tape so they can understand how painful it is. i hope that overall you are feeling pretty good and i'm glad to hear you are enjoying all of your creatively flavored drinks. well, just wanted to check in and say hi! and tell patrick, reese, and allie hello, too! :) i'm thinking about you and sending lots of positive thoughts your way!!! :) michelle
ReplyDeleteDear Peggy and Pat, we're thinking good thoughts for you and sending you both lots of love and prayers too. I can't believe our little GrandDaughter is here - I know you both are as proud as we are of her. Sarah and Ryan did an awesome job and Ryan is a wonderful Daddy. You're so right, Norah did a great job in selecting them to be her parents.
ReplyDeleteSending BIG HUGS from California!
Love,
Grandma Lisa &
Grandpa Nick
PS: Peggy, I think that Norah looks a little like you too! <3<3
