Last week's CT scan revealed some very large white (not black) images which is just a form of bowel gas (isn't this a great topic?) and so I just need needed to eat more fiber and continue with the meds. Chemo on Thursday was uneventful. Big news is that one of my Tier 2 meds (not generic/but a narcotic) went from $65 to $142 today. Speaking of other kinds of pain,
Quote I like a lot: "Perhaps life provides all the pieces, but we're always trying to put the pieces together without knowing the picture ahead of time. Over time, when you accept only certain parts of your life and ignore the rest, you only see part of your life. Sadder events, painful as they are, have proven themselves a part of something larger. The puzzle of your life is always being pieced together. You need the painful pieces to complete the puzzle. There is a strength which develops with pain which has proven itself to be durable and trustworthy, even transformative. It is a kind of strength that never comes to those who deny their pain. Dr. Rachel Remen, "Kitchen Table Wisdom."
I don't think one ever needs to wallow in pain, (hey I am as happy-go-lucky as the next person) but it needs to be accepted. . .always accept it and remember it. Peggy Irwin, no book yet.
My cousin John and his wife Joanne are here from Maryland. Will be filling you in on the details later. We're having a good time. It is raining here in PC and humid (Just like DC!)
Hi Peggy—Great news about the gas! (never thought I’d say that but heck, it’s good news compared to what it could have been, right?!). I hope you are feeling better and that more fiber will help. Love your quote, too! I hope you are having fun with John and Joanne . . . I bet it’s great to have more visitors since you get to be the “tour guides” and do lots of fun activities. Good news . . . I found out yesterday that my final big project (“the e-portfolio”) was approved so I am officially finished with the master’s. Yippee!!! Getting ready to move is keeping us busy lately. I am trying to get our current house ready to rent (we think we will rent it out until the housing market improves) so I’m finishing the stain on the deck today and the next project is painting. I know you went through this as well with your rental. How’s it going? Are the same tenants still there? Hope it’s going well! And back to your Vegas trip . . . the photos are great! What a bathroom, huh? I can’t believe it was all glass. (Don’t you love that the first Vegas photo I comment on is the bathroom??). The lights at night are beautiful and the zipline was really cool, too. I’m sure it was an amazing experience! And I cannot believe that Patrick has been so many times. It must be really fun to go with him—he’s an official tour guide by now. Oh, and I liked the pic of you and the stars, especially Michael Jackson! Glad to hear about all of your upcoming travel adventures . . . you are going to have to write a book—REALLY! And I’m so glad your recent chemo treatment was uneventful. We’re looking forward to seeing you whenever you make it back to Asheville. I know you are keeping busy and having FUN! Hi to Patrick, Reese, and Allie! Have a great afternoon! :) Michelle
ReplyDeleteWow! You have been busy! CONGRATULATIONS on finishing your MLS! How wonderful. You must be on Cloud 9. I would love to see pix of your new house. Renting sounds like a good plan. Our renters are terrific. No problems at all .
ReplyDeleteThings here are the same. No real news.
I miss you guys and will see you soon!
