Coco the Giant Colon. . .

. . will be appearing live at the American Ostomy Association convention this year.  That is so moving..  ;-)  Not sure if we will be able to go. . .

However, my first Daytona Beach Ostomy Association meeting is this Sunday so we are planning to go to that ( without Coco)  and then we're going on a little trip to Sarasota (where the rich live) to see the Botanical Gardens, the Salvador Dali Museum, and so forth.  Should be great!

My pansies are doing well & so are the poinsettias. Have always wanted to have poinsettias outside after Christmas.  So this is a wish fulfilment thing.

It was 45 today in Asheville and 75 here.  Normally the degrees are about 15-20 higher here, but this was an exception.  Did you guys up there in the higher 49 get snow?

The big news is that I bought a new bedspread today.  Allie has left her fur everywhere and we cannot get it out .  Not even in the machine.  What a mess, so we started over.  I was  fortunate to find everything on sale at Beall's here. I really do like the color.

I have been having these morning stomach cramps for weeks now and will ask the doc what is up with that.  I think it is my bladder because once I am up and going, the pain usually dissipates.  However, this morning it did not.  It scares me that the cancer might have invaded my bladder but Patrick reminded me how unlikely that would be since it would have shown up on the last CAT scan.  Perhaps she can give me something to ease the pain, though.

Tomorrow we are at Mayo from 8:15 to 5 p.m. (Blood, doc visit, and chemo for 4 hours).  We are getting closer to scheduling a meeting with the surgeon to discuss the reconnect.  I can't wait.

Hope all of you have a wonderful week/week-end.  It is lonely here without guests. ;-)

Love,

Peggy

  1. I love the colors in your bedroom, the combination is very coastal. Take good care of yourself and enjoy your time in Sarasota.

  2. Hey Peggy-I really like your new bedspread . . . the whole room looks really peaceful and relaxing! Perfect colors! Hopefully your stomach cramps are better (that’s not fun!). I know you are really looking forward to the reconnect. That’s great that you have been doing so well! I must admit I really did not believe you about Coco . . . so I had to play around on google and, yep, you weren’t joking! But at least Coco is better than I expected—I envisioned a gigantic brown turd with legs (kind of like the California Raisins, if you remember them?). Hope Sarasota is a great trip!! I can’t wait to hear about the Dali museum. I’ve been before and love it . . . very interesting stuff. And, yes, we have had a little snow but it melted quickly. Raining and dreary today but hopefully we will have some sunshine again soon. If not, then everyone in Asheville will be relocating to Florida—and Asheville will be completely empty! : ) Michelle
