Had lunch with the Ellwood Club Ladies and spent the rest of the day tieing up some "loose ends" before we leave on Monday. The depression has lifted for a time now so we are set to go. I won't write again until we return from the cruise. Adios, Amigos!
Hi Peggy-Thank goodness that today is a better day . . . that's great to hear! :) It's natural to have ups-and-downs but that certainly does not make it any easier. Call anytime if you want to talk. I can whine about the snow and then, at least, you'll be glad you are not here (and that alone will help lift your spirits). I know you are soooo excited about your trip--I'm thrilled for you two! I can't wait to hear about it and see lots of photos. Have fun and enjoy that sunshine! :) Happy travels!! Michelle
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy,
ReplyDeleteI just caught up on all the news in your blog. With all you are going through, I think it's truly amazing that you find the time and energy to keep us all updated. I loved your comment about the disparity in the treament of physical illnesses vs. mental illnesses. I have a brother who has been struggling with bipolar disorder for 35 years, and it's sad and frustrating to see what he/we have to go through to get him the help he needs. I'm so sorry you're having bad bouts with depression after the chemo. The only "good news" is that it sounds like a temporary thing caused by the chemo medication. Not that it makes it any easier to endure! I'm sure those are very tough days for you, but thankfully they seem to pass. Now you have that wonderful cruise to go on! Enjoy every moment. Soak up lots of sunshine. Eat great food and down a shot or two of tequila!Or better yet, eat the worm!! That ought to kill those nasty cancer cells.
Love,
Sharon
Hey Peggy,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are doing better and are getting to go "cruising" to Mexico. We still have snow on the ground here but it has warmed up to a balmy 43 so the sun is doing it's work and melting whatever is left. Val and Theresa and I are focusing our efforts on the white chained pit bull. He is a real sweetheart. We take turns feeding and watering him...he went from eating slop and chicken bones to turkey bacon, hard boiled eggs, hamburger and rice, scrambled egg, peanut butter dog treats, and good quality dog food. Boy is he happy to see us when we drive up. Since we got the owner's permission we don't feel quite as "threatened" to trespass. I bet the police are happy because we have insulated his dog house with straw and water and feed him each day. No more calls to the police we do it all ourselves! We hope to set the posts next Sunday and build the fence the following week. He goes in for neuter this Friday and that will be a sight seeing me and Val wrestle an 80 lb pitbull. Want to win $100,000 on America's Funniest Videos? Not quite sure how we are going to do that yet. We are going to board him for a few days after surgery so he can recover in warmth. We are moving slowly but we are being persistant and are persevering against our opposition....mayor and city council. We have had alot of good press in the paper and Lowe's is giving us the same discount as you so that is the positive. We hope to get our next fence build on the front page. Have fun on your trip and enjoy the sunshine. Talk to you when you return. Adios
Amigo.....LOL Jane
