I have not written abot the bag in a long time but my skin has now developed that horrible sensitivity again and the bag and my skin are fighting it out. I have meds to take but on our visit to Mayo today to remove my infusion pump we will speak to them about it. Gotta be a better way to get this done.
It is Freezing in Florida so with the nueropathy I have to bundle up like those little kids with nothing showing but their lips and eyes before going outside. Hey, only 6 days til we will be in sunny May-hee-co!!!!!
Soap Box: You know, all countries on the planet have mentally deranged people, yet the US has more of these horrible massive shootings. Why is that? I think there are 3 factors : The ease of getting guns, the difficulty of getting health care for mentally ill people. (I worked at the National Association of Social Workers for 6 years and the lack of mental parity with physical health parity in our health system is just crazy (pun intended)); and the ramping up of the political rhetoric . It is almost like we have an enabling system to allow these horrible things to happen. OK, end of screaming.
Hope you guys are staying inside or at least staying warm.
Love,
Peggy
Hi Peggy—Very weird timing . . . in my note earlier today I almost asked about the bag. Then decided it had been such a bad experience in the beginning that it must all be working out alright now or you would have mentioned it. I’m SO sorry that it is still causing problems. To some people skin sensitivity may seem like such a small issue in the grand scheme of things but I know how overwhelmingly irritating and painful it must be—I really hope your docs will be sympathetic and find a way to help with it. I imagine it hurts constantly and that must be awful. And I’m sorry it’s cold in FL, too . . . maybe you’ll have to move to Mexico (or live on the cruise ship)! I’m all bundled up, too. I wear ski pants to go outside with the dogs! Hope your appointment goes well and the doctors find some solutions for you. Good luck! :) Michelle P.S. I think they should feature you on CNN so you can share your soapbox comments with the world!
ReplyDeleteHey. . thanks for your note and support and overall good cheer. Your dogs must adore you for taking them out in this weather. The folks at Mayo were backed up today so no time to talk with them, but will do by phone if the pain is still there tomorrow. I think of you all of the time and hpe you are surviving as best you can with this cold. You are so little it must be extra hard for you to withstand. . do not, Michelle, run out and buy a mink coat!
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy-You are hilarious . . . glad to know you have not lost your awesome sense of humor!!! :) And, just so you know, I would never buy a mink coat although I might snuggle with my furry rabbits and fuzzy little chinchillas if I get really cold. Thanks for making me laugh! This snow has REALLY been getting to me! We finally have some sunshine today, though. :) Michelle
