Canine Caper

Dateline Saturday, November 6th Asheville Police Blotter:    Hospital authorities say they have a strong lead on the perps involved in Saturday afternoon's daring successful attempt to sneak two canines to a unamed patient.  An unidentified resource reports that a special ops group pulled off a convencing code "Canine Caper" covert clandesent operation.  Dogs of interest stated by officials are Reese and Allie, latest known address to be Weaverville.   It appears that said dogspects were transported thru the hospital's maze of corridors and elevators to the 10th floor of the St. Joseph campus at Mission Hospital by 4 human companions, Smilbert (possibly the wheel person), Natasha (possibly a drug connection), Missy (possibly a noted library stalker), and Patricio (possible the leader of the op).  One hospital spokesurgeon is quoted as saying "Yes, oh Yes! I saw them in the hallway....but wait!
they had official-like Pet Therapy looking outfits on the four legged ambassadors of joy".

In a possibly related matter, Peggy Irwin of room 1032 reported a significant improvement in spirits Saturday evening.  She was interviewed as  her husband, Patrick, swatted dog hairs off the bed sheets. Ms. Irwin refused to "cat out" on her dog friends.

  1. Peggy:
A great newspaper report! I am so glad you have recaptured your sense of humor. I hope the good feelings last and if not perhaps the mob can pull off another caper.

  2. My oh my . . . such excitement at the hospital! I do hope they catch the criminals. I've heard that someone may have photos of the Canine Caper--they will be submitted soon for evidence. So glad to hear that the patient enjoyed the spectacle! :) Michelle

  3. WOW. What a wonderful experience that those two Canine mischiefs made it to your room to bring you cheer. I hear that they can be the best treatment and knowing those 2 I'm sure they made your day.

Love to you and Patrick. Get better soon, Miss Peggy, lots of people and furry people need you :)

  4. Loved reading about the caper. It must have been a terrific reunion for Peggy and her fury friends.
Too bad they couldn't have stayed to sleep on the bed. Oh! Maybe they did.

    Love to you both

  5. Hi Peggy and Patrick,
Loved the Canine Caper! Reese and Allie look as happy to see you as you are to see them. I think they should be immediately be given therapy dog status and allowed to visit you more often! Good luck, Peggy, with the upcoming procedures. I hope you can come home to Weaverville soon. So glad the MRI/Xrays showed nothing developing in any organs. I admire your sense of fun and humor with the Canine Caper amidst the pain you're going through. I guess dogs really are the best medicine! We love you and are pulling for your every day.
    Love,
    Sharon
