I feel very fortunate to have a nice view to watch the leaves change. Still not great -- only yellows now. There was a major weather system which came in last night and it looks like another one is coming in soon (just look @ this photo I took a few minutes ago)
These photos capture my first social moment outside the house in a month! We enjoyed it very much. . yum. There is no cook top at the clubhouse which we discovered yesterday. We improvised with the microwave oven for the soup and it was delicious. Thanks again to Jim & Linda for this enjoyable afternoon.
I called the NIH 's 1-800-4-CANCER line today and received Cancer 101 information. She is supposed to send me information via email later. The body of knowledge is so huge regarding this disease I am amazed they even offer the service today. Anyway, I had used it many years ago when my aunt had ovarian cancer so thought I would try it for moi. . I don't think I would recommend it, unless you want really, really basic stuff. I did learn there is a cancer center in Tampa which might vie with the Mayo Clinic for our choice. (the NIH woman called it the MY-OH clinic)
By the way, Patrick is the perfect nurse and husband. There is not one thing I have wanted, not one thing I have needed, which has not been delivered. . from changing my ostomy bag (not high on anyone's list of tasks), to fixing great meals, to doing all the shopping, all the dog walking, all the telephone answering, all the prescription getting, all the driving, all the calming when I wanted to cry all day, and all the jokes. His love for me is outstanding. Simply outstanding. I am so very blessed to be married to such a caring and kind man! How did I get this lucky?
Well, tomorrow is a big day meeting - with Dr Lukas. See you then.
Thanks for stopping by.
I hadn't been to your blog for over a week but I have it in my tool bar. Had the kids here which was really great. Daughter Krystie had a small Melanoma removed about a month ago. She was lucky and noticed it early.
ReplyDeleteYour comments about Patrick made me tear up. You are a very lucky woman to be married to such a man. One never knows how a spouse will react until the moment comes and that moment will come to most of us some day.
Love to you both and keep writing.
Anne
Thanks, Anne! I LOVED your Codi story and please keep them coming. Any kind of cancer can be scary -- glad Krystie is OK. Yes, Patrick is one of a kind and THE best pasta maker as well as nurse. I am sure your other half is just as kind, if you selected him, he'd better be! Have a good weekend and thanks so much for keeping in touch.
