Sunny Thoughts on a Cloudy Day

Chihuly Chandelier at Mayo  (say that 3 times fast)
Things are going so well, I want to pinch myself!

It's looking very good for CFA, both from the fundraising/special events perspective and from the educational campaign perspective.   More to come soon!  Plus we have just received a most generous offer to design and host our new website for free.  Thanks go to Suzi Katz of Alice Web Design who has given so much to the animal community of Asheville (eg., North Asheville Animal Hospital, REACH, etc) , even though she now lives in San Francisco.  A big Thanks also goes to Elly Wells of Elly Wells, Inc. who is designing our billboards, our posters and many other things.  It is difficult to measure how much gratitude I feel for these two wonderful women who are working for chained dogs.  Amazing talent.

Our health is fine (including Precious Allie)  although I am bothered by my ear again (3rd time in 6 months) so seeing the doctor today about that and am having some ab pain which I'll get checked out this week.

I checked out a neat photography class at Penland in Spruce Pine but the commute is an hour each way from W-ville and the cost is pretty high, so I think I will try to do something a little less intense this summer -- maybe at AB Tech or somewhere.  I would like to know more about photography and movie making too!  Hollywood, here I come!

We are spending Feb 15th and 16th in St. Pete and seeing dolphins, Dali and Chihuly art work . Can't wait!

John and Joanne will be visiting with us in late February and also seeing Sanibel for shells and Boca Raton for rich people.  Hope they find many and bring them home to us!!!

All for now,

Love,

Peggy

  1. YAY! hope things are continuing to go well . . . it's great to read lots of good news! hope Allie is back to normal by now! :) i wrote a note to your previous post, below, about patrick's super weight loss but, alas, it seems to have disappeared (or never posted or something). anyway, i'm happy for him and happy for you for doing WW. it's a great way to start off the new year, right?!? i'm so jealous you are going to st. pete in a couple of days . . . i just heard a radio commercial about it and wish i were there. especially since it is SO COLD. 14 last night (27 right now) and our power went off last night for a little while but, fortunately, it came back on. we were terrified it would be off all night! we had a toasty fire but it's not quite the same as the furnace! have fun on your trip and enjoy the sunshine!! : ) michelle

    1. I hope I did not delete your comments. I really don't think I did. Patrick is very svelte now and sexy and charming as usual. He walks every day for about an hour. I wish I could be as disciplined as he is! I have to re-commit to WW since they do not make allowances for stress eating and being a couch potato during med-taking time. St. Petersburg is advertising in Asheville? Amazing. And you have been to the Dali museum in Spain? We will have to compare notes -- I am sure your visit was ultra fantastic! Where in Spain? I am so sorry about your furnace. Stay warm. Even Florida is not the place to be right now at least until Tuesday. I wish we had a fireplace. You, at least, had the dogs, eh? LOL! Take care!

  2. hey! nope, i don't think you deleted them, i think it's the crazy internet again! :) so glad patrick's dedication is paying off . . . and i know you can do it, too! i heard the st. pete ad again and it's actually not on a regular radio station--it turns out it's on satellite radio (we got a free trial on our new-ish car). but they talked all about the wonderful things to do in st. pete and, of course, mentioned the dali museum! i'm so excited for you and can't wait to hear about your trip! the one in spain is in Figueres (outside of Barcelona) and it was really neat! good news, it is warming up here! we are wishing for spring! :) michelle
