Great Day in the afternoon

We added Rosemary's drawings to our living room today.  They are just great.  She is so very talented.  She has a super eye for detail.

Today there has been such a difference between a.m. and p.m.  This a.m. was not fun with the vomiting and the diarrhea, but this afternoon we took Reese over to the vet to take a look at his paw -- we think he has a hot spot and behold. . .I started feeling better.  BRAT is very good (Bananas. Rice. Applesauce and Toast).  Yum.

Reese has a million things now for his paw -- bitter apple, an antibiotic, an E collar (yikes - he hates those) and some other meds.  He will be better next week.

Since P& I have not been anywhere in a month, we are thinking of driving down to Miami for two nights via the Hilton program we are in -- rooms are only $100 right at South Beach.  Or other rooms on the left of Florida are Gulf Front.

Then back to Asheville and surgery which will keep us home for some time.  Can we do it?  Stay home for 6-8 weeks continuously?

Love,

Peggy

  2. Hi Peggy-Glad you are feeling better, and hope today is a good day, too! Poor Reese . . . I hope his paw heals quickly. Give him a hug from me--and hi to Allie, too. Have fun if you take off to Miami! And, yes, I think you can stay home in Weaverville and enjoy it . . . but it's a good idea to plan some fun day trips. Fortunately, there are some neat places to visit within a couple of hours. I always forget that people travel here for vacations--I need to take more day trips, too. Hope you are staying cool and relaxing! :) Michelle

  3. Hi again—Have you heard of The Moth podcast? If you’re interested you can subscribe (for free) on iTunes. It has very funny short stories! The one this week is hilarious . . . thought you might get a laugh out of it. It’s about a guy who has a colon problem, goes into surgery, and wakes up with an ostomy bag. He was not expecting this and he was pissed! He tells about how the ostomy nurse came in with a glossy magazine called The Phoenix that’s all about happy living with an ostomy (or as he calls it, “a plastic baggy of shit hanging off of my side”). He was NOT pleased! Then he had some sort of a prolapse, too. After a few months when his colon was healed he had the reversal. But, I think everyone with an ostomy can probably relate to the initial disappointment and frustration. I know you’ve been through a lot and hope that the process is all going more smoothly. (It must be since you are touring the world!). You’re awesome!! Have a great day! :) Michelle P.S. You should be able listen to it (through your computer) without subscribing. Go to this link: http://feeds.themoth.org/themothpodcast And it’s at the top--Andy Borowitz’s story, An Unexpected Twist.
