Yuck. .along with some other tasty morsels -- fish oil, Bayer aspirin, sunflower seeds (they are ok) and some other dietary tidbits. Gotta get back to the chemo. Being rejected twice because platelets are down is scary.
We are off to Orlando tomorrow with Ryan and Sarah so I will not post again until next week.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Happy Valetines Day to all of you as well. Hope your visit with Ryan & Sarah is loaded with fun and laughter.
ReplyDeleteHey Peggy—I know you will have a wonderful time with Ryan and Sarah! I’m so glad they are visiting . . . I know you two are really excited. It will be fun to hear all about your adventures with them; it sounds like you have a lot of really fun plans! Oooo, and flax is a great idea. We use it every day and, don’t worry, you’ll get used to the taste. They sell flax oil (“highest lignin” is best) that can be used to make salad dressings, pasta salad, in smoothies, etc. But we mostly use ground flax seeds. We bought a little cheap-o coffee grinder, we grind a few tablespoons of the seeds every few days, and then use the powder sprinkled on salads, in smoothies, on sandwiches, on cereal, etc. (The powder needs to be kept in the fridge and used within a few days). It has a nutty taste and really tastes ok—especially considering the health benefits. Hope this helps! Have a super trip . . . take lots of photos!! :) Michelle
ReplyDeleteHi Peggy,
ReplyDeleteBarry and I use ground flax seed too. Like Michelle, I actually like it. Nutty flavor. I put it on cereal along with chopped walnuts and some fresh fruit. Yummy. I also take fish oil tablets because I don't eat enough fish. You can get fish oil tablets now that don't even taste fishy. They just look like a big vitamin and have no after-taste at all. Easy way to get your omegas!! Sunflower seeds are great sprinkled on salads. Sounds like you're really getting into the health food items! Hope you have a super visit with Sarah and Ryan. Yesterday I spent time reading the ChainFree AVL e-newsletter about distributing all the treats to the dogs. What a great thing to do! I'm sure the pooches loved it. Several of my neighbors gave me bags of pigs ears to contribute, which was really nice of them. I'm volunteering at the Humane Alliance Neuter-a-thon next Friday, but will be available to help build fences again this spring!! Stay positive. Your wonderful attitude and positive energy are an inspiration to us all!
Hugs,
Sharon
