It will be easy to remember the special events in our lives if they happen today -- so I hope you can make this day very special! We are. . .going to Wal-Mart to buy a water pitcher and an eyeglass repair kit. Doesn't get more exciting that that.
We may have an "ala-car" day too! Like ala-carte if you get the drift. We get our cooler and fill it with semi-healthy foods and drive to the ocean, open the windows and enjoy the sounds and the smells of the surf and work the crossword or read. Flagler Beach is stuck in about 1955 -- no tall buildings (well, one condo) and small independent restaurants, no chains, and quaint shops, the library, etc. The Farmer's market every Friday and Saturday is the main attraction.
Yesterday we left for Mayo at 8:30 & returned home at 6 p.m. I can see why people get apartments there for treatments. We also had more rain here than we have ever seen. It look like a hurricane but was not.
This is a model of the new campus (now finished) at Mayo and Peggy after Chemo showing off one of their paintings. All signs are good -- WBC, RBC, hemoglobin, platelets (on the edge but ok to proceed with treatment)
I have to go back next Monday, but only to their clinic in St. Augustine which is 30 minutes less travel time, before our drive to Tampa to board the Royal Caribbean cruise to Mexico !!!! I have to get interim blood tests now on the alternate weeks I do not have chemo.
Slept for about 2 hours while getting the drip and a free egg salad sandwich.
I have also developed a head cold because my immune system is suppressed so taking some decongestants for that and since i cannot drink fruit juice, I'm drinking lots of water with Crystal Light. Pretty Good.
Well, I will close now that you are probably falling asleep reading this blog. Sorry, just got on a roll.
Love,
Peggy
Hi Peggy-Sounds like fun! Hope your shopping trip went well and your picnic, too! Thanks for sharing more photos . . . I really enjoy seeing them. That’s a cute photo of you in front of the peaceful painting—I’m so impressed with the artwork they have on display. Glad your bloodwork looked good—hooray!!! And that’s great that next Monday you don’t have to go as far for your appt before your trip. Speaking of your trip . . . it sounds wonderful!!! :) Hope you are feeling better today and getting over your cold. Here’s a quick snow update: We had about 7 inches from a few days ago, it started to melt a tiny bit yesterday, and then we got 2 more inches last night. Will it ever stop? Natalie’s internship in Weaverville is going well but she’s really busy working on her final project/presentation every night. I’m starting to work on my final project but not nearly as hard (I’m such a procrastinator!). The dogs love the snow (so at least someone enjoys it!). It’s really cold today (low 20’s) and is snowing again now. A friend just sent me an email this morning that was titled “67 days until spring” and I’m reeeeally looking forward to it! How’s the trike? Have you been riding anymore lately? I bet you are becoming a local celebrity from cruising around town. If Allie were a little smaller she could wear a doggy seatbelt and ride in the basket. She would be adorable—but then again, she might not think it was fun. Anyway, have a great day! Good luck packing for your trip—can’t wait to see photos when you return! :) Michelle
