It is going to be a good day, eh? We arrived at our hotel in Melbourne, FL overlooking the beautiful Atlantic yesterday.
It is a little chilly here but never mind about that. . it is a "getaway" from cancer and everything. You know, this disease can become a career if you let it. It is always with you, orbiting around your head.
I am reading a great NYTimes bestseller on my Nook, the Emperor of All Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee. He is an oncologist who decided to write the "biography" of cancer: It is very well written! If you want to know anything about this disease, this is the book to get. I have leaned so much. But we are putting that away for the next 3 days and enjoying other things. . .movies, walks along the beach and other enjoyable activities. . .
Overall I feel good today -- maybe an 8. The past two days my body was adjusting to the new meds I got for the UTI Saturday and it was a struggle But that seems to be OK now. From a person who took zero drugs to a person who now takes 7 a day (sometimes more) with all the attendant side effects,, my body has been thrown against the wall. I plan to coddle it during the next few days -- rest, good food, zero stress and positive thinking. All those things we think we do, but we probably really don't do well. IMHO.
Well, I again thank you for your emails and comments and for those of you in Asheville, I pray for higher degrees. Did you get snow?
