. . for the next day and half. I think we need it, but it makes things a bit gloomy.
Over the weekend I developed another infection but the Doctor prescribed an anti-biotic and we got the Rx this afternoon. That's incredible. Dr. Lukas is a gem of a doctor.
The bag is dysfunctional now (fun!) so an ostomy nurse is coming over in the morning to look again at solutions.
I really didn't comment much on the second round of chemo because it was pretty uneventful. The first round was a trip into hell vomiting every 1-3 minutes. I was not only delusional and suicidal, I was suffering through amnesia. I am just now learning about some things that happened there which I have absolutely no recollection of. It is a very strange experience. Stuff for soap operas!
They did remove about 8 litres of fluid from my gut. I was a lot sicker than I thought, so they tell me. That is the fluid that the cancer made, called ascetis,
I was so scared last Friday when I went to the WNC Cancer Clinic to get going on the second cycle I was shaking --thinking of what was to come, but all of my fears were ill founded in that everything went pretty well. no vomiting and only mild dizziness and fatigue. The fatigue is the major complication this week, they say.
I do not like taking all these drugs but without them I would not be typing this, I would be in ball over in the corner.
Oh, I have also developed neuropothy and cannot touch cold things, .must be tepid. I think there is some religion out there which requires this as well --- no hot or cold foods.. only room temperature food?. This will end within 2 weeks. . I crave a nice bowl of real ice cream or even iced tea!
I agree, the rain is very gloomy! So glad that Dr. Lukas is such a great doc . . . and I hope the ostomy nurse will come up with some helpful solutions. That’s wonderful to hear that the second round of chemo was so much better. Phew! :) Michelle
