I know we are the luckiest people and thank God for your friendship and support during this time.
We are in Florida, 73 degrees, 50% chance of rain. Since I can only eat a tiny bit, we will just have a light meal and enjoy the day with the dogs on the beach.
We were very impressed with Mayo yesterday and with Dr. Johnson. She knows a little about everything including helping me with the double vision I have developed in my eyes (both). It has to do with the 6th optic nerve which may be caused by cranial fluid so she will do a MRI next week. . .you know it always seems like there is yet another test. . .and another. .. and another. What is odd is that when I see a street light it looks like a little Christmas tree. I have had this for about a month now and it is probably not related to the cancer, but we'll see.
The pain has subsided however! I have not had real pain since last Sunday. Dr. Johnson showed us the films of my abdominal area before they removed the 4.5 litres of fluid back in October. My organs were vying for space. It was amazing. A main goal is to reduce the fluid and I think that has stabilized -- at least my weight (after the 20 pounds I lost last month) has been stable this week.
She was very direct and told me that since the disease has metastasized into the peritoneum, we are not looking at a long time frame here, but who knows? She said 11 months to 5 years and she has one patient at 7 years. Every body is different. Every body.
They will do everything hey can to help me, and that is all you can ask.
I do love Florida and our house here. I may never go back to NC!
(that was a joke).
My third round of chemo begins at Mayo in the morning I will get a new Charlie Chemo pack. Can't wait ! (another joke there)
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving day.
Happy Thanksgiving to you & Patrick.

Sounds like you are really enjoying the Florida weather! That’s wonderful that you like Dr. Johnson so much but I’m sorry that there always seem to be more tests involved. Glad that your pain is under control (yay!!!). I’m sure it’s very hard to hear her talk about time frames but remember that attitude is SO important and you have the BEST attitude and you are such a fighter!!! So hang in there and keep moving forward. We’re cheering for you! :) Michelle
